Govt eyes strict emission rules to boost EVs

Unhappy over the auto industry’s resistance to mandatory sale of electric two- and three-wheelers from 2025, the government is looking at tougher measures, including making emission standards stringent, to discourage the production and purchase of vehicles that are fitted with internal combustion engines (ICE).
