2nd wave numbers rising much faster, daily cases close to 90k

A day after crossing the 80,000 mark, India’s daily Covid-19 case count rose to just around 1,000 short of 90,000, with 88,988 fresh infections recorded in the last 24 hours, the highest since September 26. Friday’s count was within 10,000 of the highest single-day tally of cases recorded in the country.
